CV

professional summary

I am a Jack -- or rather a Jane -- of all trades. I can do video, audio, graphic design, animation, photography, feature writing, scholarly writing, and probably much more. I am also under the belief that you can learn anything from YouTube nowadays, so truly I think I could do anything if I put my mind to it.

Honestly, that's probably similar for many communication professionals out there, but I stand out from competitors because I am friendly and honest and always willing to learn. Plus, if you can teach high school sophomores how to do documentary film making, freshmen how to interview strangers and write a story in active voice with journalistic style, juniors to put together an award-winning, inclusive, researched and beautiful publication...then you can work with adults who might already have some of those skills.

I've designed for theater groups. I've written for college newspapers and academic journals. One of my essays was peer-reviewed and published. I've worked for universities, high schools, sororities and non-profits - businesses with limited technology, as well as businesses with all the newest gadgets.

I'm more than capable and willing to get my hands in the grind and I work well with teammates, too.

Teacher & publications advisor
Notre Dame de Sion High School

As the journalism instructor and publications advisor at Sion, I am a department of one. I teach ages 14-18, which I've found requires special nuance for each level. I help staffs of less than 20 young women write, design, edit and publish an award-winning newsmagazine, online news site and yearbook while preparing underclassmen with skills and project-based instruction to prepare them to join those staffs as student journalists, photographers and designers.

2016 - present

FREELANCE PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEOGRAPHY & Graphic design

The gig economy has become a huge part of US working culture and I am no different. Since college, I've explored my passion for digital art and design and my love of photography and cinema. I've done professional headshots, family shoots, weddings, special events and much more. I'm available for the next big gig -- I love an excuse to whip out my camera or stay up late puzzling together an epic design.

2019 - 2020

videographer Zeta Tau Alpha International Office

At ZTA I got to practice so many skills on the daily. I utilized graphic design to animate logos and objects in Premiere Pro; I used photography and videography experience to frame subjects and capture events; I used writing skills to procure scripts; I improved my audio captures and edits; and I was constantly working with my team to develop educational programming, publish the quarterly magazine, and support one another through hectic deadlines and the wild wild west of client requests and edits.

2017 - 2019
